I'm working on a screencast (Google Analytics) and I'm not an expert in using the software. Do you stick to your comfort zone and only make screencasts on the topics that you know like the back of your hand or do you stretch and venture into a topic or software that is not only new territory but may be difficult to learn?

This is a video of the camera kits. I have spent almost all day today testing different ways to compress and host video posts that might work where the Internet access is slow or if you are video blogging from an Internet cafe and the computer does not have windows movie maker on it. Note the cameras are very inexpensive.

The next technique that I am exploring in my screencasting/videocasting skill set is the addition of music. Why add KB or MB to the file size when my content instructional. Lack of technical skills or software tools in cutting, splicing, fading the audio and weaving it with the video track. Trade Off: What value does music add?
