Under Kundra's leadership, the District is using simple technologies to become, arguably, one of the most transparent metropolitan governments in the nation.

The District of Columbia Public Library has held as series of Accessibility Hackathons. The Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) has also held a few hackathons with the New York Public Library.
