Mixing Digital and Physical: The Holocaust Museum's Handwritten Pledge Wall

On a recent trip to DC, an old friend showed me around a new exhibit at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), From Memory to Action: Meeting the Challenge of Genocide. This makes for a nice combination of printed and handwritten pledges, pledges local to DC and written in foreign languages as well.

In DC, I worked half-time for NASA as an electrical engineer and half-time for the Capital Children's Museum (now defunct) as a science educator. I'll never forget when Elaine Heumann Gurian cold-emailed me in 2007 to ask if I would consider reviewing a new paper she was writing. So I packed up and moved down the East Coast.
