Converting GoToMeeting recording to something you can actually use

Upon my return I Googled, eventually finding a site that explained how to force the re-encoding of a GoToMeeting webinar using the Windows command line. Other folks suggested replaying the file through Camtasia , but I wasn't going to buy a $300 piece of software for this. Same with another tip to use HandBrake.

Ready/Talk outputs the file into.swf format which can't be brought into Camtasia for editing. I tried to convert the.swf file into one that would import into Camtasia using replay converter and couldn't do it.

Dropbox sits nicely between formal, full featured project communications tools such as Basecamp (which we also use), Central Desktop , or Google Apps and Docs. Google's new Cloud Connect is not ready for prime time. TechSmith also makes cool free/paid video capture Jing as well more complex Camtasia – all good.

Now, I'm curious to go back and make a screencast in Camtasia using auto pan and see what the difference might be. I discovered Michele's post this morning from a google alert. When I first started to record, I don't think I used auto pan and tried to do it manually and it was totally klutzy. Very sparingly.
