Anyone a whiz at troubleshooting typepad advanced templates? You have to hack the typepad templates. And, after some back and forth with Typepad Support person named Carla, I was able to learn how to edit the advanced templates. Meanwhile, if you use blogger or wordpress, Marshall has posted some tips.

Anyway, he mentioned that he set up a Typepad blog for Witness' Director, Gillian Caldwell to document her trip to Sierra Leone with Angelina Jolie to deliver recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) to the government. I use a variety of tools for this analysis, including Google Analytics, Feedburner subscriber counts, and manually tracking comment to post ratios (typepad doesn't have a nifty plugin like wordpress to automate that grunge work) A tool that use to evlauate my content is PostRank. It works on a number of different blogging platforms, including the one I use, typepad. The call to action - asking a question at the end to generate discussion is a technique that is integrated into my writing process unless I am doing an interview - but that is a very good point to remember and a useful tip to share with new bloggers.

Blogger, which turns 10 this year, was covered in depth, and I have to admit, I was quite impressed with the features and functionality it offers that I was totally unaware of. As you can see, a ton of great information was shared from the Google team with educational info, helpful tips and even a few success stories thrown in.
