Mashable has a nice story about why you should have a Social Media Policy at your agency. Having a policy in place that delineates who may or may not post on behalf of your agency that addresses this is vital. The Social Media Governance website has 82 examples of social media policies in place at corporations.

If they post with nefarious reasons it can damage your personal or your organization’s reputation online. Other than spam from companies trying to sell you goods, how do you think this will impact you and your organization? Facebook also made news by announcing that it has changed its privacy policy…again… that will allow all users to be discovered using Facebook Graph (it’s search tool).
