I can only sign up by linking a Pinterest account to my Facebook or Twitter account. The Facebook signup page isn't nearly as informative. The author of this article says "when I used my Facebook account to create my profile, Pinterest used my personal information to automatically have me start following common connections."

It''s bad enough that the formatting of the first third is truly ugly (scroll to the bottom to see an image), it says someone named Raynan with my email address asked them to send me the message, the text of the newsletter includes the line "want facebook money?", and the links don''t even try to look like they''re legit.

I've seen spam like this before ( here's an example using Facebook ), and it might have a chance if they'd just used the first sentence. Text: To: Facebook User, Southwest is giving out 100% free vouchers. But they also used some random text generator that makes the message gibberish. A baby spammer taking his first steps?

UC Berkeley talked about a badge that donors can post to their Facebook pages after making a gift ("I Feed The Bears"). Very few speakers or attendees reported using these tools for fundraising, though.

Last month I posted about how Facebook was making money by datamining my friends. Why should Facebook make all the money, just because they built a cool app that people actually want to use? Today I received spam from a site called Frens Zone that will allow me to make money off my social network. This just feels smarmy.

The phone came with Facebook, Google Maps, Gmail, Kindle, Weather, YouTube, and lots of navigation and entertainment apps. It's hard to see the screen in bright sunlight. Maybe I need an anti-glare screen protector.

Add an on-screen keyboard (in addition to the physical keyboard). Handy when working in landscape mode. The apps I've installed include: Google Calendar Search. Pandora (great to have Pandora in the car). Dictionary. Miscellaneous. Palm added a video camera feature with the last software upgrade.

I'm using apps or mobile pages for Facebook, YouTube, OpenTable, Google Maps, Twitter, and Yelp. For instance, there's no Share option for Facebook entries. There isn't an app for Facebook chat, but apparently you can just use your browser. WebOS apps or mobile versions solve many of these problems. Texting and Chat.

I’m fascinated by the ad for Gavin Newsom’s gubernatorial exploratory campaign that’s been showing up on my Facebook page lately. So Katie is a fan of Gavin, and Katie and I are friends, and Gavin is advertising on Facebook, so I see Katie’s photo in his ad. Her page confirms that she is a supporter of Gavin.
