When I became the director of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History four years ago, I took this work with me. Right now, we're working hard to empower Latino residents to see themselves in our museum. We're a place you can work off your traffic ticket. Let’s start with empowerment. Our visitors are about 8% Latino.

The Women of Color Resource Center has been around for a little over 17 years and we are a pretty impressive place, I think, because we are one of the very few places in the nation, and globally, that holds the interest of women of color, and girls of color as a central piece of our work.
