But when people told us what they loved about the museum, they didn’t use the word “participation.” It is a group of people connected by something shared. We exist for people who live in Santa Cruz County. In some ways, we do a good job engaging people who reflect our whole County. They talked about community building.

"I think that people have long associated feminism with older white women and the idea of bringing that back to women of color, and bringing it back to young women of color and asking them what it means is an exciting time for me."
