I know that I can make a difference for positive change, and am learning that Traveling Postcards might be the vehicle for making that change. In Uganda, a group of young people made incredible, heartfelt postcards filled with glitter and cut up magazine pictures to send to women in the Congo. We have come a long way!

What is interesting to me about this concept of a platform for change that is very different from say - campaigns on social networking sites like Facebook or the use of widgets and charity badges on blogs for personal fundraising campaigns -- is that while Virtual Worlds are empowering individuals -- we are empowering collective action.

Britt Bravo: Why is it important to have women citizen journalists in developing countries at this time? They come from all different casts, all different religions, and from indigenous backgrounds in Mexico. Hopefully, the situation in the Congo resolves itself and doesn't cross the border into Rwanda, as it did in the '90s.
