What started with 15 students in 1997 has grown to support 200 students per year. The program is rigorous, engaging students in serious scientific projects as well as personal and professional development workshops. YES students defy expectations. Louis' Forest Park, which happen to be free.

In April, I gave 13 UW graduate students a simple challenge: make an exhibit that gets strangers to talk to each other. Last month, student Nicole Robert wrote about the concept for Advice: Give it, Get it, Flip it, Fuck it. The exhibit experienced low traffic overall in an odd area of the UW student center.

Machine Project is a gallery/educational program space with a focus on blending art and technology in craft workshops. I used it last night for backchannel chat during a lecture on gaming in museums with a group of about 20 students, and I was impressed by how easy it was for everyone to use. WebWise is a free(!)
