Tagging is such a functional activity, and if you don't see direct benefit from doing it, the interest in it as a fun afternoon activity is pretty low. They aren't letting visitors bookmark objects; they are asking for descriptors to help people find them. Their promise that it is "fun, easy, and addicting!" is scarily true.
