We used Google Hangout because they found it was more robust for video, audio, and screen sharing in that remote location. Using Google Hangout, you can switch between slides and camera, although when you are in slide mode, you can’t see the remote participants. The Google Hangout was projected on the screen.

Tonight we worked on Harry's slide show. I purchased a $10 digital camera for Harry from the drugstore. He has been taking photos and then using them to illustrate a digital diary. I showed him the basics of how to extract the photos from the camera, how to insert them into PowerPoint, and some basic instruction on PowerPoint.

Both events had their share of clunkiness.
