They were there for artist talks. Every other year, they convene TUPAC, a group of 35 outside advisors, including teens, college students, Temple University professors, artists, philanthropists, and community leaders. The chairs were cast-off art, reclaimed as art, available for people to take off the hooks and use.

We created Race Through Time in partnership with a local networking group called Santa Cruz Next , whose primary aim is to support and celebrate ways that young professionals can and are changing our community for the better. Performances just for teens. The event was oversold, and participants raved about the experience.

Their use of the web to connect independent artists all over the world was striking and very surprising. being as transparent as possible about the selection and production process.

I had a healthy second life as a slam poet, and I loved the world of artists and performance. At the big one, I worked on a small project with teens to design science exhibits for community centers in their own neighborhoods. I knew how to be assertive and social in small settings like my museum but not in larger groups.

We experimented with many different forms of visitor participation throughout the building, trying to balance social and individual, text-based and artistic, cerebral and silly. It is a personality test (based on real science) in which you can determine your own love style by answering a series of questions, teen magazine-style.

The science of capital punishment from DNA to execution Religion Teen suicide, teen cutting – I wanted to include these in my museum’s “Hall of Human Life” teen area. and displayed in the museum.
