Nonprofit Tech for Good launched in 2005 as a Myspace page and in the 18 years since we’ve been through multiple early adoption phases of new social media — first Facebook and Twitter and then on to LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr. Traditional marketing and fundraising threads are not getting much traction.

At the time, nonprofits were primarily only using Myspace and YouTube. It was the optimal time for early adoption of social media by nonprofits, and it’s no coincidence that the nonprofits that embraced these new tools in 2006 through 2008 are today the most successful nonprofits on the Social Web.
