A few surgeries later I found my role relegated to that of a back up and mentor to a rising star. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I clearly understood that my role as a leader from the rear and as a mentor helped contribute to the success of the team. Why do so many leaders and companies struggle with being transparent ?
