is a microblogging service based on an open source project, Laconica , and all of the updates are copyrighted by a Creative Commons (Attribution) license. There are an increasing number of third party apps that can use it (it supports the Twitter API.) You can log in using OpenID. All really great stuff. So I’m on identi.ca

The biggest buzz here is about the API and the initiative they call Open. In addition to conections to Facebook, they have built connections to Raiser’s Edge (without the benefit of a Blackbaud API). He described how much easier it was to work with Salesforce, with a published API, than to work with Blackbaud.

Except that the new APis allow people to upload, watch, search, and comment on the videos on other Websites.

My assumption is that you could custom build a Facebook application using the API, but if you wanted to use their Facebook connector, you would have to only have one. Interactivity.
