Thousands of nonprofits haven’t logged into their MySpace profiles in months, or even a year or more. That said, MySpace is not dead. Traffic has definitely sloooowed, but the site still has 57 million monthly visitors in the United States ( as of December 2009 ). I created the Nonprofit Organizations MySpace in 2006.

The 2011 Nonprofit Social Network Benchmark Report provides some incredible data on how 11K+ nonprofits are using social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others. Are nonprofits raising any money on social networks? Facebook is the most popular commercial social network for nonprofits.

Earlier this week, an announcement on the Causes Application blog broke the news that over $20 Million has been donated since May 2007 via donors using the social networking application. During 2009 I created and promoted 34 TwtPolls to help better understand the needs of nonprofits. 2) ATTN Donors: Have you ever donated to a nonprofit organization through your cell phone? [ [link] ]. 43% Yes… our organization blogs regularly. 5% A social networking site (like Facebook). 9% MySpace.

Last week the Nonprofit Organizations Facebook Page reached the 10,000 fans milestone. In 2008, many of the friends of the Nonprofit Organizations MySpace migrated over to Facebook, then in 2009 and 2010 a good number of the new fans came from @NonprofitOrgs on Twitter. That said, this information is very useful.
