In 2008, we were the first customer of Samasource as they were getting started. I visited Daproim four years ago, and wrote about my experiences in a blog post about its founder, Steve Muthee. She runs a for-profit social enterprise named Daproim that provides data entry services using disadvantaged students as their primary workforce.

This experience helped us prove the potential of Bookshare to meet the needs of students with disabilities. We first extended Bookshare services internationally in 2008 with the launch of Bookshare in India.

You can imagine the impact of Bookshare.org going from a $1 million per year enterprise in 2006 to over $7 million in 2008.
