I've seen several museums experimenting with inviting visitors to take action, make promises, and join communities of intentionality (here's a post with examples from 2007 ), and the USHMM effort is particularly compelling for some specific design choices made in the development of the pledge wall. Observations from The Tech Virtual Museum Workshop, Month 1

I've been working for The Tech on this project since November of 2007, and it has been an intense and exciting three months. In the long term, we're dedicated to this workshop being a place for museums to collaborate with one another, to pool creative resources to develop exhibits that can be implemented uniquely at different institutions.
