The project is training 300 NGOs in Jordan , Lebanon , Tunisia , Morocco , and other Arab countries to become networked ngos and use social media for civil society goals. It was inspired by a conversation we had during the planning sessions in San Francisco in January about whether or not there was an Arabic word for Nerd (there isn’t). His organization’s name, Shabakat , translates into the word “network.&#. They’ve simplified and focused on what they do best.
