I did a post a few weeks ago on youth programs in TechSoup Global's new Local Impact Map and decided I hadn’t covered this resource nearly enough. Our Local Impact Map. The school has about 300 students who attend classes in a one-room building that ordinarily accommodates 30 children. It has just 20 UK-based staff.

Rod Beckstrom, prominent Silicon Valley tech executive, was in Pakistan during the great quake (although not in the quake zone when the big one hit). The only open platform for sharing information came out of University Lahore where some students and professors put together a solution called "RisePak."

I am very excited about upcoming peer learning projects that I’m working on in 2012, including several for Packard grantees in India, Pakistan, and Africa as well as the e-Mediat project in the Middle East. They gave the students tests based on content and scored them. And the resulting graph is the analysis of 1200 students.
