The post I had originally planned to publish before leaving on a plane for Tunis, Tunisia was going to be all The Women’s Enterprise for Sustainability (WES) , funded through the U.S. Needless to say, I’m sad about what is taking place in the region and disappointed that my trip to Tunisia has been rescheduled.

We spent Day 2 of the E-Mediat Train the Trainer sessions on “ Translating The Networked NGO in the Arab World.&# The specific learning objectives: To understand the principles of “being” a Networked Nonprofit. To localize Networked Nonprofit concepts to an Arab NGO context, as appropriate, for improved project outcomes.

The project is training 300 NGOs in Jordan , Lebanon , Tunisia , Morocco , and other Arab countries to become networked ngos and use social media for civil society goals. A true public/private partnership, the funding partners include Microsoft and craiglist Charitable Fund. I’d like to share some of these below.

I’m here at the Dead Sea in Jordan where I delivered the key note for the E-mediat Networking Conference, “New Media for the Networked NGO.” The program accomplished the following: 220 organizations participated. Organizations raised almost $125,000 through integrated social media campaigns from donors.
