The Rockaways, in the borough of Queens, was one of the hardest hit areas during Hurricane Sandy. When Laurence Copel moved to New Orleans in 2010, the city was still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

It was a huge success and it's now become an international drive , with toys and books going to children's hospitals all over.
