The physical space you are working in will also help inform your design. People can’t be as focused on content when they been sitting longer than 10-20 minutes.

I was also impressed by the energy in a room with twenty people who have a networked mindset, leadership skills, and social media expertise. Interest in people. Walking into the medina, the old part of Tunis, I suddenly acquired very friendly people from Tunisia speaking good English (which is unusual, since English is about language number six in usefulness in Tunisia, after Arabic, French, Italian, Spanish and German). Helpful people, really. My new friends.
