Open source thinking is sharing and remixing. So, I remixed it for the audience. I added a lot of visuals, I changed the examples, reorganized and tweaked the steps. You can see my remix here. There are some definite pros/cons to the different approaches and I'll write about it later. I like having a leave behind.

Next week I'm doing a Webinar for Extension Professionals , a remix of 10 Steps to Association 2.0 which was a remix of Marnie Webb 's Ten Ways Nonprofits Can Change the World. My initial remix thought (wrong) was to look for examples that were related to agriculture, but the extension is so much more. An example?

A New Definition of An Expert: Your Network. I feel strongly that the new definition of a social media expert is someone who has a smart network. . For example, during the lab session, we got a terrific question about bilingual Fan Pages on Facebook. Many people have also remixed it.

It is a remix of the " Cute Cat Theory of Digital Activism " which was the title of a talk given by Ethan Zuckerman at O'Reilly's E-Tech Conference in March, 2008 (notes from Ryan Singel. However, based on observing nonprofits that have been effective - there are definitely some patterns of success for social media adoption.

The configuration of the physical space definitely enhances learning. A week before our session, I posted a request to my broader Twitter network for arts and social media examples and asked people to add them to the wiki. The scenarios clearly outline the social media objective and audience definition. Here's a few thoughts.
