For four weeks this summer, we got a crash course in data transparency. Along with 3 colleagues, we volunteered to develop an entry for the Apps for America 2 contest , sponsored by the Sunlight Foundation. The team conceived "DataMasher" -- a web app that allows users to "mash up" two sets of state data.
