On April 16-18, 2023, 3,600+ fundraising professionals descended on New Orleans, LA for AFP ICON’s 63 rd annual conference, the largest turnout in six years. One private school set a reasonable goal of $4,000 to help raise relief funds for the earthquakes in Syria. AFP ICON also hosted two inspirational general sessions.

Over 8 weeks this last fall, I had the privilege of working with NGOs from Afghanistan, Cambodia, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, in a series of trainings that took place in Phnom Penh, Beirut and Istanbul. Panelists at the conference included the Guatemala Forensic Anthropology Foundation (FAFG), Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), ICTJ, and DC-Cam.
