I am very excited about upcoming peer learning projects that I’m working on in 2012, including several for Packard grantees in India, Pakistan, and Africa as well as the e-Mediat project in the Middle East. A few days ago I opened the door on a new learning journey. The last question asks students to tell Mazur what confused them.

While my objective was to make positive change, when I came at it from a place that was angry, I saw - I think this has been visible to many people who have worked in social change movements - that my anger was not growing the movement. It wasn't bringing people toward us. Why do people who are not chosen end up out in the cold?

It's very simple to calculate: you take the total operating expenses for your public-facing efforts and divide by the number of people who walk through the door. Or is it worth more because the museum content is reaching people in distant lands who would otherwise never have engaged with the institution?
