I just finished reading Kentaro Toyama’s new book, Geek Heresy, tackling the cult of technology as a cure-all for society’s ills. There’s often more value to me in reading iconoclastic books than feel-good affirmations of popular icons! At the same time, there are some flaws in his arguments that are worth pointing out.

Carol’s social enterprise in Nairobi employs over 100 students working to proofread books for our Bookshare digital library. It was the third Africa Forum I’ve attended: I went to Accra, Ghana, in 2011 and South Africa in 2004. We were demonstrating Bookshare to a person at one of Uganda’s top universities. Enough said!
