The journal Impresa Sociale (Social Enterprise) presents new entrepreneurial initiatives that arose largely in response to social needs that had been inadequately met—or not met at all—by nonprofits and public services. Interest in exploring these models has been rising in the United States, but they are much more common in Europe.
