Fluid is an application you can use to create Site Specific Browsers (SSBs) on the Mac based on the Safari rendering engine (WebKit). When you launch the application you just tell it which page should now be treated as a stand-alone application. Unread indicators for Gmail, Yahoo! And it’s free!!

Most of us connected-types had accounts with a web hosting company, and the thought of setting up a MySQL database, uploading a folder via FTP and running a setup script in a browser was no big deal. It appears that the application will auto-update itself, as if it were a hosted web app. It’s also not collaborative.
