You do not need to be an “artist” to make a postcard, but each participant is surprised and delighted by their creativity and to see that their cards contain colors, words and images that reflect their strongest selves. We are also funding very special after school art classes in Afghanistan through our partnership with Trust In Education.

They wanted to create a literacy program for themselves because now there was a school where their children could go to school, but they felt embarrassed that they couldn't support their children because they themselves were illiterate. Women and their children are disproportionately victims of outside violence as well.
