Our Martus team trained two new partners focused on rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people : Jamaica Forum for Lesbians, All-Sexuals and Gays , or J-FLAG and AIDS-Free World. HRP members produced scientifically sound analysis that is advancing the process of legal justice in Guatemala.

This may be the most overused and least accurate phrase we hear nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) utter in Guatemala. But if the NGO’s goal is to create a sustainable new stove program that can be run by local people, create jobs and grow, the NGO will need to include training and teachers that can go beyond building stoves.

Department of Education was to serve 100,000 students by the end of our five-year contract in late 2012. Based on hitting that number two years early, we’re now projecting that we could serve perhaps twice as many students, 200,000, by the 2012 milestone date. And the price to the Dept.
