I have led Martus outreach and training for the past 4 years and worked with human rights defenders all over the world, but because of the project-specific nature of our work, I interact with each of our partners separately. For me personally, the meeting was a rare experience.

Their " backpacking with a purpose" program strives to cultivate consciousness while providing real services that directly benefit the communities they work with around the globe. The summer 2011 program included 115 participants who also exceeded goals, raising a total of $125,000! In 2010, 75 volunteers participated.
