Last August, I saw the impact of Twitter's velocity first-hand with a fundraising experiment. Let's take a look at the brief history of fundraising on Twitter and lessons learned. I'm drawing from my experience using Twitter drawing and those of others. I was able to raise $2,500 in 90 minutes at Gnomedex.

I'll be attending SXSW in Austin, TX the week after next. The panelists or poets include Danielle Brigida (NWF), Wendy Harman (Red Cross), David Neff (American Cancer Society) and Carie Lewis , Humane Society of the US. I've designed some fun ways to incorporate Twitter into the experience. I organized at the NTC last year.

I like Twitter , personally. I learn a lot from the flow of information out of Twitter. Twitter has had a banner 2008. So, I’m not the only one out there who became a new user in 2008 and who plans to keep using in 2009. Some people say Twitter is just a bunch of noise, broken up into 140 character sound bytes.

The SXSW Interactive Festival (scheduled March 12-16, 2010 in Austin, Texas) is a mega huge social media industry event. The panelists include Holly Ross, NTEN ; David Neff , American Cancer Society; Kari Dunn Saratovsky ; Case Foundation; Amy Sample Ward , Netsquared; and Joe Solomon. It was organized by Ed Schipul.

At the end of that panel, we all hoped there would be a larger nonprofit presence on the agenda for this 2009. And yes, indeed, in 2009 there were many more panel proposals.
