September 17, 2007 There is an interesting discussion happening between Holly Ross, soon to be ED of NTEN, and Allan Benamer , about web statistics, and whether or not nonprofits should be “transparent and publish their web statistics. For one thing, feeding people is not what NTEN does. That dog won’t hunt.

Yesterday, they published the list of organizations that have lost their exemption from paying income tax due to failure to file required reports in 2007, 2008, and 2009. The National Center for Charitable Statistics notes that 90 percent of these organizations have never filed any kind of return. This is great news.

A couple months ago, the ASU Lodestar Center released its 2010 report on Arizona Giving & Volunteering. The data were collected in the summer of 2009 by asking people to reflect on their volunteering during all of 2008. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. We welcome your comments and feedback. But is it right?

Since we started this undertaking in 2009, weve heard each year that demand is on the rise, and that remains the expectation for 2011. " Such a scary statistic, but definitely very eye-opening information to have. Or will we start having tough conversations about the limits of an incredibly resilient and resourceful sector?
