Ushahidi got its start in early 2008. The NetSquared Challenges Foster Tech Innovation. and that year we came in second.

One of TechSoup's less-known areas of work has been to support and promote the work of other tech-for-good organizations, like Ushahidi in Kenya. The organization got started when a group of Kenyan bloggers led by Erik Hersman began doing online mapping of violence reports after the 2008 Kenyan election. So much innovation.
