The show ended, and I immediately signed up to be a Women for Women International sponsor. They sat side by side to discuss the role of women in rebuilding society, women's rights and the new Constitution, and family law. Women for Women is a nonprofit that pairs women survivors of war with women sponsors all over the world.

She has been the recipient of many awards, including Fast Company's 2007 Social Capitalist Award, and the League of Women Voters' Women Who Could Be President Award. The year before that, women in Morocco won an amazing change in the law. Until then, women had been considered minors under the law.
