New on SSIR: Letting Technology Lead

Amy Sample Ward

My latest post for the Stanford Social Innovation Review is up and I hope you’ll dive into the conversation with me! A recent event has brought up some huge red flags for me around data, around communities, around social impact, inclusion and even more. It’s a case of letting technology lead (or, rather, the people behind the technology) instead of the communities on the other end.

Next #4Change Chat Topic: Volunteering

Amy Sample Ward

Originally posted on the #4Change blog by Tash Judd. Social media and new technology are changing the way we recruit and manage volunteers. They’re also changing how we define the concept of volunteering. New forms of participation such as micro-volunteering, and web-generated events such as Twestival, are changing the way people are coming together to raise funds, donate their time and make a difference in their local and global community.
