Applications are now open for the TD Park People Grants, which provide grassroots community groups with $2,000 to support their vision for environmental education, sustainability and stewardship programs that help connect people to their local parks and green spaces. Grassroots community groups include but are not limited to, volunteer-based park groups, local agencies, resident associations, and not-for-profit groups active in their local parks. 70 community groups in 21 urban areas across Canada will receive $2000 to host 2 in-person and/or virtual events focused on supporting the ongoing care and protection of green spaces. 

TD Park People Grants 2024 Timeline:

  • Applications close: February 27, 2024
  • Notification to grants recipients: End of April 2024
  • Distribution of funds: End of May 2024
  • Activities hosted between April 22 to December 31, 2024
  • Project reports are due after each event or by October 2024

Events:

  • Events can be in-person or virtual.
  • If hosting an in-person event, you must follow your city’s public health guidelines at the time of the event. Events must be free and open to the public.
  • Events must abide by all local laws and permit requirements.

Eligible Expenses:

The grant can cover any event expense, including, but not limited to, honoraria for volunteers, event materials, supplies, and equipment, and printing of promotional materials.
