How to save on photos, stock and video

Getting the right visuals is essential… and expensive. Not many nonprofits have the budget for a photographer.  Here are sites where you can download incredible royalty-free stock and videos, for free!  Tip: Be detailed and patient with your search, and you’ll find what you’re looking for. How to save on graphics and digital media

Having a full-time Graphic Designer is costly – and not an option for many nonprofits. Try outsourcing to a dedicated freelance artist. Creating a relationship with one or two talented freelance artists keeps costs down – while allowing you to benefit from a consistent, professional working relationship. This allows you to stay on budget without sacrificing the effectiveness of key visuals. Could you benefit from a dedicated freelance artist? Start now!

How to save on website design and maintenance

This is where most nonprofits spend the big bucks – but they don’t have to. High monthly maintenance costs and updating fees used to be business as usual, but upgrades to website editing software coupled with new ease-of-use platforms make these fees a thing of the past! If your nonprofit is stuck with a website you can’t edit and monthly hosting fees that don’t provide you with the flexibility you need, it’s time to rethink your current web provider and software. Newer, more robust platforms like WIX, SQUARESPACE and DUDA allow ANYONE in your organization to edit your website easily. If your team can edit a Word document, they can edit these sites.

The thought of switching platforms can seem like an expensive undertaking – but when you compare that to paying the next year of hosting and editing fees…  you might actually save money! Plus, you get a brand-new website that you love. WIN WIN. Questions about what platform would work best for your unique needs? Reach out: info@nonprofitagency.ca

How to save on social media

It’s no secret that your nonprofit needs to be active on social platforms. But nowadays, managing all the social platforms can be a full-time job. Not to mention the artwork and scheduling software fees. A simple solution? Outsource to a dedicated freelance artist.

This saves you the software fees and the expense of hiring full-time. Not comfortable with outsourcing? I get it. Here are some great (and very affordable) software solutions to help.

CANVA.com  is a very affordable platform that allows you to create, schedule, and post to most social media platforms. It’s also a powerful print and presentation resource as well.

Hootsuite.com and LOOMLY are handy scheduling tools that all offer discounts to nonprofits.

Note: Did you know that WIX, SQUARESPACE and many other newer web platforms come with a FREE social media artwork generator tool and scheduling software? They do! This is a great way to save money and keep the artwork in-house. While we are on the topic, some even have free newsletter-building software as well.

How to leverage free Google posts

Did you know that once you have created a Google profile for your nonprofit, that you can post updates, images, videos, events, and more daily? These posts share your news and improve your Google search ranking – and it’s free! Post as often as you want to raise awareness, share fundraisers, highlight events and more. It’s very easy, too.

Tip: Save time and money by repurposing your previously used social media posts.

How to take advantage of free Google Ad Grants

Since 2003, Google Ad Grants have helped nonprofits communicate their impact, recruit volunteers, fundraise for their causes and increase awareness about their programs and services. By offering eligible nonprofits up to $10,000/month in free text-based advertising on Google Ads, it empowers organizations to create effective campaigns that drive website traffic and raise awareness.
