Original Broadcast Date: March 14, 2024

Summary: The first two things you need to know about burnout are: The number of people reporting burnout is on the rise, and burnout is preventable. In 2019, the World Health Organization added burnout to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) as an occupational phenomenon. This leads us to the third thing you need to know about burnout: It’s not a sign of weakness, a lack of grit, or failure, nor is it a moral deficit or laziness.

This webinar covers how to understand burnout (what it is and what it isn’t) and addresses what the rising numbers of reported burnout tell us. For instance, who is most at risk and what does that mean for prevention and management of burnout in the workplace? While burnout is most often workplace-related, circumstances and personal life pressures can also be contributing factors. Together, employers and employees share the responsibility to prevent and manage burnout.

The webinar covers:

  • Proactively assessing contributing factors to burnout
  • Identifying signs of burnout
  • And suggestions for precautions and supportive strategies to cope with burnout.
