Plan International Canada invites youth to apply for the Girls Belong Here program and the Youth Council. Through these initiatives, Plan International Canada works to effect positive change for children’s rights and equality for girls. The programs geared toward youth aim to deepen awareness and knowledge of global issues, build their leadership and advocacy skills and unleash their power as global citizens.

The Girls Belong Here program is geared toward individuals who self-identify as girls, women, or gender-diverse youth between the ages of 14-24. The program creates opportunities for young people to step into leadership roles within various sectors, including the government, civil society organizations, academia, and corporate firms, to demonstrate that we all have a right to equal opportunity in all industries.

The Youth Council is geared toward 14 to 22 years old of all gender identities, who are interested in strengthening their leadership and advocacy skills. As part of the youth council, individuals have the opportunity to support the strategic direction of the Youth Engagement team, provide feedback on various aspects of the organization, connect with like-minded leaders locally, globally and much more.
