The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research released the Incautiously Optimistic report, reviewing data on Canadians’ attitudes and perspectives surrounding artificial intelligence, sourced from social media and search audits. The study determined that Canadians are leveraging new AI tools without fully considering the scope of risks and opportunities. In tandem with this research, the Institute launched a free online course, Destination AI, designed to improve AI literacy.

Topics covered in the course include:

  • What AI really is (and what it’s not!).
  • The impact of artificial intelligence on the workplace and on society as a whole.
  • Go behind the scenes of an artificial intelligence project and get familiar with concepts like deep learning and machine learning.
