Future Skills Centre released the Monitoring Remote Work in Canada: Support or Surveillance Report, which delves into the impact of increased electronic monitoring of remote workers. The study examined the experiences and attitudes of employees and supervisors in regard to remote work. The research aimed to gather information relating to how remote working has affected productivity, satisfaction, trust, and well-being. According to the study, more than half of remote workers indicate that the amount of work they complete on a daily basis greatly or somewhat increased compared to before the pandemic, with supervisors providing a similar assessment. With the shift to remote work, supervisors indicated that they are able to better support their employees (45%). Supervisors and employers have determined that the best ways to maintain connections and interact virtually are to host regular meetings (76%), and provide ongoing feedback (40%). Based on the research,  it was determined that Canada’s remote workers are still very satisfied, more productive, and have a better work-life balance.
