The Government of Ontario announced applications are now open for the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant.  The Government is investing $5 million dedicated to strengthening the emergency preparedness of communities in Ontario. The grants will allow communities to invest in resources, critical supplies, and equipment, as well as, deliver training and services to be prepared in the event of natural disasters and emergencies. 

Eligible applicants include:

    • Non-governmental organizations that have a mandate in emergency preparedness
    • Local services boards
    • First Nation communities; Indigenous organizations, including Tribal Councils; and other Indigenous service organizations that support emergency management programming in First Nation communities
    • Small- and medium-sized municipalities (those with populations under 100,000 as per Statistics Canada data from 2021)

The deadline to apply for the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant is November 30, 2023.
