Announcing… NonProfit Times TV!

October 5, 2010

[tweetmeme] Live broadcasting via the Web has been around for a couple of years thanks to sites like UStream.tv, but the nonprofit sector has been slow to adopt this new technology… until recently. Stand Up To Cancer caught my attention a few weeks back, and now with the launch of Apple TV and Google TV we’re on the precipice of a new era in broadcast communications. As social media fundamentally changed print journalism forever, so will Web TV and its impact on broadcast and cable TV programming.

That’s why I was thrilled to see The Nonprofit Times become an early adopter of this new technology with the launch of their Nonprofit Times TV Channel (www.nonprofittimes.tv). The pilot originally aired on September 22 and future broadcasts will occur every two weeks. The next broadcast is scheduled for October 6 at 1pm ET. You can watch live or just view the recorded archives on their channel:

Most of us will be watching on our computers, but within the next year or two the technology will quickly evolve to allow us to watch channels like Nonprofit Times TV on our digital TV sets in our living rooms. Imagine the possibilities!
