For the audio, we use a phone line that was fed into the AV system and wireless mic. It is also helpful to have a back channel for communications with the moderator.

It does mean that everyone who is involved in a webinar needs to install Skype – but that seems to be a minor issue, to my mind. But, you can’t use the Skype edition on Linux yet, either.
