I love seeing how people remix the social media game. That's one of the key benefits of working wikily - that if you get stuck in your own thoughts or way of doing something, someone else can add their creativity and inspire you.
Monica Hamburg created the above remix. This game focuses on a small number of tools. After a presentation about what, why, and examples of the nonprofit uses of the tools. Each group gets to enter their discussion into this online google form. I'm supposing that the audience for this workshop is fairly technology comfortable. I wonder if all the groups had the time to discuss and review each of the tool cards?
Check out some of her other presentations on her blog, including this comprehensive introduction to Twitter called "How Tweet It Is."
Thanks so much for the mention, Beth!
As you noted, I had created a Google form for attendees to enter their info. I knew there would be the possibility (or likelihood) that participants wouldn't have laptops, or be comfortable with technology, so my backup plan was to have people simply forgo the technical part. (Which was what we ended up going with.)
A write-up of how the game went is now on my blog at: http://monicahamburg.wordpress.com/2009/06/16/social-media-game-for-my-charity-connects/
Thanks again for allowing for remixes. I think interactive activities allow for great hands-on learning.
